Straight Blades & Combs
Each station is stocked with fresh combs and disinfected blade handles before the start of each day.
Straight razor blades are loaded into a disinfected handle in front of the client immediately before service.
After each client, used blades are removed and disposed of immediately in an approved sharps container.
Used blade handles are placed into a designated labelled container for cleaning and disinfection.
Used combs are immediately placed into a soap and water holding jar and remain fully submerged until reprocessing.
At the end of the shift, blade handles are thoroughly cleaned with soap and water, scrubbed, and disinfected in an OPH-approved bleach solution for a minimum of 10 minutes before air drying overnight.
At the end of the shift, combs are scrubbed with soap and water, manually dried, and disinfected using Barbicide disinfectant.
Soap and water holding jars are emptied, cleaned, and refreshed daily.
Daily Sanitization Practices

Barbers sanitize or wash their hands before each client.
Stations and tools are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between clients.
Hot towels are heated and stored in accordance with sanitation standards.

Shop Standards
We take pride in maintaining one of the cleanest barbershops in Ottawa. After each client, we take the time to clean our station and tools before the next appointment—no stepping over someone else’s hair to get into the chair.
• Workstations, including drawers, are vacuumed and disinfected regularly.
• The washroom is routinely cleaned and disinfected.
We continuously review and update our procedures to remain compliant with Ottawa Public Health standards and industry best practices.
If you have any questions or concerns about our shop’s hygiene practices, feel free to reach out via email—we’re happy to provide more information.
